Scholarships Available for the Young Leaders Winter School
With the launch of the Trinity Institute in 2011, Trinity College is pleased to offer a number of full and half scholarships for Australian students for the Young Leaders Winter School – Young Leaders for Social Justice program in July. Please see the attached scholarship form for more information.
Young Leaders Winter School part 1: The ‘Persuasive World’
A one-week program that examines the world of media, psychology and law, where students:
• are introduced to a broad framework of psychology theory and principles that help explain human behaviour in different situations and environments
• investigate the psychology of persuasion and its influence on social interaction and decision making.
The program is directed by Dr Maureen Vincent [link to staff directory] and features a highly- interactive teaching approach that develops key skills for success in the classroom and beyond.
Young Leaders Winter School part 2: ‘Leadership for Social Justice’
A one-week intensive program where students learn the leadership skills critical to grassroots movements for social justice. This program is highly relevant to high school students with (or moving into) leadership roles at their schools.
Students will:
• explore the principles of equality, democracy and community
• develop skills of critical enquiry and personal judgment
• learn how to be exceptional student leaders
• learn how to make a difference as citizens and community leaders.
