From the Careers Office
Dear Students
Although many students find success through university
pathways not all students choose to go down this path. Artistic Director
Nick Pill from Rising Sun Pictures who has worked on many Harry Potter films,
and is hailed as a genius in the design industry, saw his star launch through
TAFE.
So…. If you are thinking of doing a Diploma as a bridging
course to uni, or you want to do a trade apprenticeship, TAFE has many great
options available. I myself have studied a Diploma in HR and done other
studies at TAFE.
TAFE applications for Semester 1, 2013 open Monday 24
September. Go to www.tafesa.edu.au
or call them on 1800 882 661 for more information.
Have questions regarding pathways, TAFE and otherwise?
Pop by during the hols and visit me here at PAC (email me first) or just
email me your questions.
Kind regards
Ms Magann

Dear
Year 12 Students
We are
very fortunate to have Professor Randall Faull, Director of the Medical
Program at the University of Adelaide coming to speak to interested
Med/Dentistry students about their futures. He has come in the last 2
years and has given very helpful advice including what to do if you don’t fare
well on the UMAT, back up plans and what to expect regarding an offer from
Adelaide Uni.
This
will launch the first part of our 3 UMAT Oral Assessment preparation
workshops.
DATE:
Next Tuesday 18 September 2012
TIME:
2:30 PM sharp to 4:00 PM
LOCATION:
Professional Development Centre above the staff room. Entry via front
reception and up the stairs - 1st floor – follow the signs.
Please RSVP.
Also,
- if you need help with your SATAC application (early close – Friday 28
September), I can help. Quite a few boys are coming in for assistance, so
don’t miss out. J I sense a big relief from the
Year 12’s after going on to the SATAC site and getting the process
happening.
And…
make sure you avail yourself of a number of preferences (not just one or two),
keeping in mind that SATAC will only offer you the one you are eligible
for with your ATAR and pre-req’s. You want to have a backup plan just in
case…
Need
scholarship support or career/study advice? Book in! Don’t leave it to
the last minute. Please!
Kind
regards

Magann
